We're so busy. The go-go-go mentality is a staple in our society. Humans are designed to function mostly in a state of calm, however most of us are physiologically functioning within our survival system (fight, flight, freeze). Which is a reason why we're physically sick, anxious, and depressed.
The good news though, is that we can ease our bodies into more tranquil states. We can, over time, teach our brains to live in a calmer place more of the time.
One of our wisest teachers? Nature.
Nature has so much inherent wisdom about living more peacefully. Not hurrying. Accepting rather than trying to control. Being rather than doing. Just merely being IN nature lowers blood pressure and heart rate, boosts immune functioning, lowers anxiety and stress, and creates an overall improved feeling of wellbeing.
So - let's get into nature!
In these two-hour workshops, we’ll combine mindfulness techniques with nature's wisdom to cultivate some tranquility in our normal routine. Let’s meander, saunter, sit, lay, and frolic around in nature as we soak in her teachings about how to live life with more peace, balance, and joy!
**Be sure to bring some water and snacks if you think you might need them! These workshops require only mild physical movement, so no experience is required. For the most part, you’ll be able to choose your level of activity. This will be more of an experience of being in nature rather than doing.
